My husband is Chinese and he could eat Asian food every single day. I try my hardest to cook it at home, from scratch, but, I am just not as good at it as I would like to be. I do however, know how to pan fry potstickers really well. I was so excited when we visited our local Costco and were able to try several fantastic products from Green Chopsticks. Our favorites were the Potstickers and the Chicken and Pork Dumplings. Green Chopsticks also makes Beef Bulgogi and Chicken Bulgogi that we finally got to eat for the first time, last night.
The Chicken and Beef Bulgogi come in 10 oz packages and are already seasoned in Spicy Koren BBQ sauce. You simply allow the meat to completely defrost and you can then cook it on the grill, in the oven or on the stove top. Both of the packages were frozen and I took them out one hour before serving and placed them in a sink with cool water. After an hour, they were completely defrosted and ready to be cooked. I decided to cook them on the grill, which, is how you would cook it in a Korean style restaurant. I lined a baking sheet with foil and placed the meat on it and then put the baking sheet directly on the grill rack.
The Beef Bulgogi comes in thin strips and cooks very quickly…about 5 minutes over a medium heat flame. There were two full chicken breasts that were butterflied in the package and they took much longer to cook…about 15 minutes. As you can see in the picture above, the meat is already marinated and really stands out in the finished product. My kids thought it was very spicy, but, they loved it. I honestly wish it had more kick to it, but, really loved both of the meats and I am not a huge beef eater.
The Potstickers are available with Chicken or Pork and come in a 9-10 oz bag and must be stored in the freezer, until they are ready to use. You can find large bags of these in some Costco stores, call your local Costo and request them or ask if they are available. There are only 160 calories in 4 Chicken Potstickers and they do not contain any Saturated Fat or Trans Fat. They are made with Chicken or Pork, Onion, Shiitake Mushroom, Sweet Potato Noodle, Leek and Garlic. They contain no preservatives or MSG and are made with natural ingredients.
Potstickers can be boiled on the stove top, pan fried or heated up in the microwave. My kids and I eat these atleast once a month and we prefer to eat them pan fried. I mix in a little hot sauce into a small bowl of soy sauce and dip the Potstickers in and enjoy them. My husband loves to boil the potstickers or dumplings and make soup with them, which, is also extremely delicious. You can add chicken broth, potstickers or dumplings, soy sauce, and your favorite chopped vegetables to make a fast and tasty soup.
Green Chopsticks Dumplings are available with Pork or Chicken and are very similar to Potstickers. Dumplings are actually bite sized versus potstickers which are more like palm sized. They are made with Chicken or Pork, Leek, Green Cabbage, Onion, Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper. They contain no preservatives or MSG and are made with natural ingredients. There are only 110 calories per 8 pieces and contain zero Saturated Fat and zero Trans Fat. These can also be boiled on the stove top, pan fried or heated up in the microwave. They taste so fresh and are so fun to eat…my entire family loves them!
