HGG Review – Magic Fashion Show by Colorforms

I remember my grandma giving me a paper doll dress up kit when I was a kid. I played with it almost everyday until the paper was destroyed from too many uses. I remember the old paper doll kits came with paper outfits that had tabs on the sides that you would fold over onto the models. Since they were made of paper, they didn’t last very long…but, they were still loads of fun. My twin girls were so excited when we opened up their new Magic Fashion Show from Colorforms. This kit is a very nice upgraded version for paper dolls. The dolls are made out of sturdy cardboard and the outfits are made out of thin, re-usable plastic that clings to the dolls.

The Magic Fashion Show is suggested for kids ages 3-8, but, my girls are 9 and love it. The kit comes with a stage that rotates and has mirrors and lights. The stage does require three AA batteries (that aren’t included) in order to operate the lighting. I wish that the batteries also operated the rotating stage, but, that is operated by hand. The kit also includes 95 outfits and accessories and five fashion dolls. There is also a drawer on the outside of the stage for storing the dolls and outfits when they are not being used. Overall my girls really love the kit, but, I think it would’ve been a bigger wow factor if the stage twirled around by itself.
